Students Celebrate Success in A Level, Applied and Technical Qualifications at Bluecoat Aspley

Students at Bluecoat Aspley are celebrating another year of success as they receive their A Level, Applied General and Technical qualification results today.

This year’s cohort has achieved strong outcomes across a broad range of academic and vocational pathways, reflecting their hard work, resilience and commitment throughout their studies.   We are particularly proud that our results continue to improve year on year and this year is no exception!

Principal’s Statement

Sarah Anderson, Principal of Bluecoat Aspley Academy, said:

“We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our students. These results reflect not only their dedication and perseverance but also the commitment of our staff and the support of families throughout their educational journey.

At Bluecoat Aspley, we are committed to ensuring that every young person is supported to achieve their ambitions, whether that is progressing to university, higher apprenticeships, employment or further training. Today’s results are a testament to that collective effort, and we wish all our students every success as they move on to the next stage of their lives.”

Student Success Stories

We are thrilled for Izaak who leaves us with A*A A in Mathematics, Computer Science and English Language, and will study Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University. Izaak is the last in his family to go through Bluecoat Sixth Form,  and is an exemplary student in all ways. This has not come without challenge and adversity at times, however, Izaak is going to set the world on fire with his words and creativity. We are beyond proud of his journey.

Charlotte is leaving us with A*A*A in English Literature, Politics and History to pursue her dream to study English at University of York. She is highly academic, deeply intelligent and beyond her years. She exemplified everything we could hope for from a student at Bluecoat Sixth Form, forming excellent relationships with all staff during her tenure. She literally said “she loved every minute of her learning” this last two years. Her passion and enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge is truly inspiring. Her future is beyond bright, and we are so excited to see where her path leads.

“I personally want to thank everyone of my teachers and the wider Sixth Form team for making my time here enjoyable. I have been inspired academically and supported so amazingly during my time here and will forever treasure the past two years”.

Moustafa has been a highly academic and consistent student since he began his learning journey with us. Alongside studying, he’s still found time to dress to impress and maintain a strong personal presentation and fashion sense! Always willing to develop and learn; we are extremely proud that he leaves us with AAA* in Biology, Chemistry and Business Studies and will be studying Biomedical Science at Plymouth University.

Afia has been an exceptional student who has worked so hard over the last two years. Being a quietly brilliant student is only one of her amazing traits. She is kind and such a good friend to her peers. Afia studied Economics, History and Maths, achieving A*A*A in her final exams. She is going to University of Warwick to study Economics and Management. They are so lucky to have her, and we know she will do herself proud. The future is bright.

Lucy is our first student to apply and get accepted at Norland (of Norland Nanny “fame”) to study Early Childhood Education & Care. Lucy has worked hard within her T-level Education to end with a Distinction across a three A-level equivalent qualification. Lucy cannot wait to explore all the prestigious opportunities provided within this fine institution. Lucy could potentially become the caregiver of the next generation of Royals or VIPs around the world. We cannot wait to hear all about her next chapter.

Fanus has been a focused and dedicated student throughout his two years at BSF. He has always been there for his peers, supporting their revision and knowledge acquisition, which is noble and kind. He is leaving us with CBB in Design Technology, Computer Science and Mathematics, and is going on to study Computer Science at the University of Nottingham.

Chloe is a force of nature and determination. A student who knows what she wants and has worked hard to achieve her 4 A-level equivalent grades DD/DM in both Applied Science and Business BTEC. Alongside these excellent grades, Chloe is an active national and international Cheer Leader, travelling the globe to compete in various competitions. She hopes to continue her love of cheer leading when she is off to study Veterinary Bioscience at the University of Surrey. The University of Surrey have given her a special Award of Excellence for her high achievements, which also gives her leadership and ambassador opportunities.

Akash has battled many personal challenges throughout his sixth form journey to achieve a CCC in History, English Literature and Sociology. Akash is so polite, thoughtful, gracious and kind. He has shown gratitude for the help and guidance he has received from staff and students alike during his time at BSF. He is committed to studying Law at Nottingham Trent University, so he can make a difference to others and leave a lasting legacy.

Commitment to Ambitious Destinations and the Archway Curriculum

At Bluecoat Aspley Academy, these outcomes reflect the impact of the Archway Curriculum, which is designed to provide all students with both the knowledge and character needed to flourish beyond sixth form. Through a broad range of academic, applied and technical pathways, students are encouraged to pursue ambitious goals and develop the skills, resilience and confidence required for future success.

This year’s students are progressing to a diverse range of destinations, including leading universities, degree and higher apprenticeships, specialist training programmes and sustained employment. The academy is particularly proud of the increasing number of students securing progression routes that align closely with their aspirations and talents, demonstrating the strength of its commitment to ensuring that every young person is prepared for their next step in education, employment or training.

“Our vision is not simply for students to achieve excellent qualifications, but to leave us ready to make a positive difference in the world. These outcomes and destinations reflect the ambition of our students, the dedication of our staff and families, and the strength of the Archway Curriculum in opening doors to future opportunities.”

Keely Platten (Quality of Education Lead for Sixth Form)
