A Level English Language students were invited to participate in a Linguistics project led by Dr Natalie Braber at Nottingham Trent University. The ‘Celebrating Notts Language’ project invited students to share some of the different varieties of language spoken around our region, including local dialects and language used within their communities. This was an exciting opportunity to contribute to the limited research into the language varieties of the East Midlands, and students confidently discussed their linguistic experiences, including their experiences of multilinguism and local words.
