Year 12 Biology Trip to Sherwood Pines
Written by Cassidy, Year 12 student:
The trip was an interesting excursion into the outdoors in relation to biology content that had already been covered. It allowed myself and my peers to see first-hand uses of biology content highlighting its importance in the real world.
Being in the outdoors allowed for detachment from the city lifestyle and to gain true understanding of species evenness and richness.
It was interesting to see that areas that are a simple walking distance away from each other( the grassy field land versus the woodland) can be so different in the habitats they can provide as well as the diversity of the plants.
Overall, the trip was very informative and educational.
