It has been a busy few months for our Year 12 students as they make further preparations towards their futures after Sixth Form and so lots of events have been helping to support this.
Our future Medics have been particularly busy in attending a UCAT test workshop, a full day ‘Medicine in Action’ course which we were lucky enough to secure 10 places for and yesterday we were delighted to welcome one of our alumni; Andre Tulloch along with one of his fellow student medics to deliver a presentation, question and answer session and personal statement workshop for our perspective medics, dentists and vets. Andre has just gone into his 5th and final year of medicine at Nottingham University and is part of the universities Afro-Caribbean Medicine Network. It was great for the students to get a direct perspective from someone that has been in their position and the talk gave them a valuable insight into the rigorous application process and life as a student medic and beyond. We will be delighted to welcome the team back in September to deliver our Medicine Evening presentation to our new year 12 cohort and year 10 and 11 students.
Outside of medicine, there are lots of outreach events being promoted so we urge students to keep an eye on their emails and the student hub on teams for lots of opportunities to extend their knowledge and enhance their super-curricular profile.
